Studley Community

Studley Parish Council

If you would like to know more about our local Parish Council, go to:

Warwickshire County Council Road Safety

Thank you to Mrs Lees from W.C.C. Road Safety department who came into school to deliver a very important Road Safety Assembly on keeping Road Safe.

STOP, LOOK, LISTEN and THINK were the key words. To reinforce this important message, can we please ask parents to ensure you follow up these valuable instructions at home.

Our Local Police

At St Mary's we welcome annual visits from our local Police force. The children are able to meet friendly community representatives for our Studley area, ask questions and talk about the many safety issues that affect our daily lives.

A very big thank you to our local police force for giving up their valuable time to talk to our children, to make them aware of how they can help themselves in different safety circumstances and how to deal with situations should they arise.

Warwickshire Fire & Rescue

A big thank you to Donna and Tom from Warwickshire Fire & Rescue who come into school every year to talk to our Year 1 and Year 5 children.

The children are given the opportunity to ask questions, test out fire safety equipment and are reminded of some of the key messages of fire safety around the home. This is very valuable work and we thank them for all their hard work and dedication.

Studley War Memorial - Renovation Project

St. Mary's, along with other Studley Schools took part in a fund raising project to help restore and renovate the village War Memorial. Over the years the masonry stones had cracked and become discoloured and the dedication inscriptions had become illegible. St. Mary's pupils became involved in a project to raise monies towards the restoration, which was finally achieved.

Professor Barrie Wade at the Studley War Memorial restoration project and funds from our school Spellathon supported this excellent work.

Studley War Graves - Remembrance Cleaning Project

As part of a school and parish project, our School Council members agreed to look after four war heroes graves in the Catholic Church yard. The children pledged to scrub and polish the memorial head stones, rake and clear away weeds and place poppy crosses on the graves in time for Remembrance Sunday. The graves are those of the following war heroes:

FRANCIS DAVIES, JOHN TUCKER, ANDREW LAMB & JOHN STILES.

'Studley: Past, Present & Future' - Schools' Art Project

GREAT NEWS - five  of  our pupil’s pictures were selected and ‘enlarged' and displayed on the wooden hoardings surrounding the Studley Co-Op Supermarket.  Children from all the Studley schools were invited to create a picture around the theme of  ‘Studley: Past,  Present  and  Future.’
