Computer Science & IT

St. Mary's has a newly refurbished Computer/Resource Centre. This new facility now links our computer suite and our reference library to create a new resource area.

Mrs Owen is our IT and Computer Science Teacher and teaches all pupils in both Key Stages computer skills, software and language.

Pupils undertake research work, document production, produce slide shows, presentations and artwork from the workstations. They participate in Maths and Spelling challenges globally and are able to communicate with our Partnership Schools through the internet. Pupils are able to operate mini I-Pads - we are very grateful to our school's PTA for contributing to the cost of 36 mini I-Pads.

Internet Safety training is of paramount importance and the school undertakes regular safety training sessions with the pupils. Find out more about our Internet Safety Rules and School's Internet Safety Policy.

New IT Project - March 2015

We are very excited by a new IT project our Year 6 children have recently embarked on. Working in partnership with Mark Sharott  of WCC and Kudlian Software, the children are using a piece of  software called Appfurnace to develop and publish APPs of their own, which will eventually be accessible on ipads and iphones.  It is very ‘cutting edge stuff’ and we are the only school in Warwickshire currently involved in the project. When the APPs are finished we will let you know how they can be downloaded.
